Mahon Port – Menorca’s Capital City
Looking for a great place to relax and get stuck into the Spanish culture this holiday? Mahon Port is the place for you. Located on the eastern coast of the island of Menorca, it is the second-largest city and the Capital city of this famous island.
Whether you are wanting to relax in the blazing Spanish sunshine or admire the stunning views, Mahon Port is a destination that is popular amongst both tourists and Spanish locals. Take a stroll through the streets of the city for a buzzing atmosphere and an array of local bars and restaurants, or wander down the harbour and enjoy the views of the port. The harbour in Mahon Port is the longest natural harbour in the world.
For the more adventurous tourist, opt for a boat trip out into the bay where quaint glass-bottom boats offer a window into the wildlife that lives beneath. Usually, these boat trips last only an hour and are extremely reasonably priced.
If you happen to be in the city during September, your visit will coincide with the festive season where the city comes alive with music and live bands. Dance shows erupt and stunning horses jaleo in front of the main church.
