Walking this trail is the best way to see the area in all its glory.
The unforgiving landscape matched with incredible views during this hike makes this an unforgettable experience when in Mallorca. The whole route is an epic 84 miles long with 8 different stages and starts in Port D’Andratx in the southwest to Pollensa in the northwest of the island. For those looking for something less demanding but still want to hike, then head to Serra de Tramuntana and hike through the mountains instead which is a portion of the more demanding GR221 Drystone Route.
The mountain is classed as a UNESCO world heritage site due to the historic local villages perched on the peaks of the mountains. These villages were built using stones that were quarried by hand on the mountain. Hike alongside the coastline made rugged by the rocky limestone formations along the mountain and walk through magnificent pine forests, wildflowers, and olive groves while you make your way across this stunning landscape.
