Almunecar’s Bonsai Garden Museum
For those that are green-fingered like me, the Bonsai Garden Museum is such a unique experience that will make your holiday truly special. With hundreds of beautifully grown Bonsai trees, there is so much to explore in this garden museum.
The Bonsai Garden Museum is located in Almuñécar in the Costa Tropical. It’s a gorgeous garden that holds many different carefully cared for Bonsai trees of all different species and shapes and sizes. There are not many tourists which makes this place especially peaceful and relaxing.
The Chinese art of Bonsai was first mentioned in Spanish texts when travelers would speak of small ficus trees that were growing onto hand-sized pieces of coral in the Philippines. Small Bonsai trees first spread to Europe in the 19th century where this ancient growing technique was adopted and used.
The great thing about the Bonsai Garden Museum is its space and the feeling of being away from the hustle and bustle of the city. There are also a lot of other great places to explore in the area so you can plan your day according to how much you want to see. If you are in Almunecar on holiday then I think this garden museum is well worth the visit.
