Cruz de la Muela, Orihuela | Alicante
From Amelia Carey
Today we hiked Cruz de la Muela, Orihuela (Alicante). We found Cruz de la Muela to be a great hike! I would definitely say this has been my favourite hike in Alicante, Spain so far as not only was the view from the top incredible but we really enjoyed this trail. It was very well signposted all the way up, it would have been impossible to get lost, and the path was very easy to walk on. It took us approx. 2 hours to get to the top (took our time/few breaks) and it took us an hour to get back down…I have heard a few people do it a lot quicker so it can be done, but we took it easy and enjoyed the route! If you plan on coming here, you will definitely need a bottle of water, a few snacks, and packed lunch (if you plan on having a little picnic at the top). I would also recommend that your phone is fully charged in case of emergencies, and to get some awesome photos at the top! Make sure to wear layers as it can get really sweaty hiking up and is pretty windy at the top. There are several trails to get to the top, some that we are going to try out eventually, but we took the Monte Pinar route, and here’s where we parked: Calle Alicante M Pinar, 21
