Altea is a stunning city nestled between Alicante and Benidorm on the Costa Blanca coastline. Altea is just north of Alicante and is filled with traditional white-washed Spanish buildings and small winding streets. It has a number of fantastic beaches and the weather is notoriously glorious making it a great holiday destination for many and well-worth visiting.
Altea is around 11km from Benidorm and can be reached easily by catching the number 10 bus from Benidorm. It is around 47km from Alicante and so is easily accessible by car from Alicante city. This stunning place has so much to offer, with fantastic beaches, a calm Spanish atmosphere, and mountains surrounding the city.
Altea market is the biggest market in Costa Blanca and sells everything and anything. This is the perfect place to pick up a trinket or buy gifts for family and friends. The market is located on the edge of town near the sports centre in the city and also has lots of bars, cafes, and restaurants dotted around the area. Many items are hand-made by local people so you can find some really stunning items at the market.
Altea’s market is popular with both tourists and locals who enjoy the atmosphere of this bustling market. It opens around 10 am and is usually only open on Tuesdays so make sure you don’t miss out.
